Monitoring Locations
Adbri monitors particulate matter at two locations within the community, which are to the west of the plant:
- Community Park
- Walton Street
These monitors, located in close proximity to the Adbri plant, measure the level of particulate matter in the environment from a range of activities including Adbri, motor vehicles on Victoria Road and industrial, domestic and natural sources within the region.
Adbri also operates monitors within its facility boundary, which assist in determining particulate concentrations at the boundary and upwind of the facility (background concentrations). However, this website focuses on presenting data from the community monitors, these being those that are most representative of conditions in the community.
The closest Environment Protection Authority (EPA) monitor is Le Fevre 1, located within the grounds of the Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School, approximately 1 kilometre to the southwest of the plant. Air quality data from other EPA monitoring stations in Adelaide can also be found on the EPA website.
